About Us

Born into the Mexican culture, Mariana and Paula quickly learned the importance of food as a source of comfort, love, and general togetherness. As children, our Aby always had cinnamon- and sugar-sprinkled fried plantains for us when we visited, and she labored over our fish to make sure there were no bones for us to swallow. Meanwhile, our Nana bribed us with cocido, albondigas, and sopa seca so that we'd visit every Sunday.

At home, our mom, despite a lack of passion for cooking, did not let one home-cooked dinner go unmade. There is still nothing that compares to her chimichangas, sopes, and spaghetti, although we're doing our best to learn how to do it ourselves now! Our momma instilled in us the importance of eating as a family, now and when we have families of our own.

As we grew up, our dad took an interest in cooking, choosing gourmet meals as his focus. From rosemary and wine ribs to brie and basil pasta, he's never afraid to try something new and experiment. We get our sense of adventure from him!

Together, we are now continuing the tradition of food. Our favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. We eat more than most men. Working out simply means we can eat more. A requirement for our men is that they appreciate food at least half as much as we do (Mariana succeeded. Justin may not "hmmm" as much as we do, but he already loves to request certain meals and makes a mean enchilada casserole himself). We. Love. Food.

We are two sisters on a quest to satisfy our man hunger through cooking, eating, and general sharing of thoughts. Enjoy!
